He considers prayer to be a mystery, though not something that is incomprehensible. He views prayer as the greatest work to which men are called. It is a working together with God. Through it, God’s purpose is accomplished and Satan’s intentions are broken. And its benefit to the one who prays is something great as well. Let us therefore follow the admonition of our blessed Lord, who said: “Rise and pray” (Luke 22.46).
